We are very particular about the food we serve because we eat it as well. And we like to eat well. Wholesome, fresh ingredients cooked to a turn and simple presentation (we tend to avoid pretentious drizzle). Whether you order a full English breakfast or a few slices of our tender whey-fed pork at dinner, you can expect an honest to goodness, great tasting meal.
Our restaurant is in the thatched Manor House and has recently undergone considerable renovation. The Oregon pine ceilings and exposed internal thatch-work give the room a welcoming natural warmth. Add pleasant and helpful service from our team and you have the ingredients for a great night out.
Lee Roberts Walsh has recently re-located to Tulbagh from the west coast of Ireland where she had several very successful restaurants, and catered for weddings and conferences at Westport Country Estate.
Lee is extremely passionate about her food, with a strong focus on fresh, local ingredients displayed in a selection of different dishes from around the world. In addition to the A-la-Carte menu, Lee is always available to discuss menus in advance for weddings, functions or special occasions.
The team at Manley are a great bunch of people who take a special pride in their work. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the kitchen. We always encourage everyone to develop their skills and grow, and aided by the BEE programme this approach is bearing special fruit.
Katrina Beukes started with us at the beginning of 2008, working with the cleaning staff to keep the place neat and tidy for guests. One day she happened to mention that she likes baking bread and the rest, as they say, is history. Her superb range of hot homemade rolls is just one of the delicious aromas that wafts out of the kitchen.
Mthulise Beje started with us working as a gardener back in 2008. A man who obviously finds lots to smile about in life, Mthulise has since discovered that he has a special talent for creating the ‘Full English’, the kind of breakfast that really sets you up for the day. A treat not to be missed.
